I have a concert with the Miami-Dade All-County Youth Orchestra this Friday evening. We'll be performing selections from Leonard Bernstein's works, including West Side Story, Peter Pan, and Wonderful Town. Be sure to stay until the end, when we're (ironically, I suppose, since it's our finale piece) performing the overture to Candide - this is the first time I ever have a featured solo on the oboe!
Please come to support me, I'd really appreciate as many familiar faces in the audience as possible. It's at 6PM this Friday, here at the school auditorium, and it's free.
In other news, I'm really nervous about the oboe solo. And for the start of baseball season - I'm the first freshman in quite a few years to be the starting pitcher. It's amazing that I have time to sleep. as Dennis Kelly (Perseus) in olympiaheights
I want to try my hand at directing.
Would anyone be interested in doing an amateur summer theater play? We could do a one act, or a musical, or basically anything as long as we have enough people who are interested.
I'm leaning towards musical. Perhaps Damn Yankees or Guys and Dolls? Or maybe the ever popular Grease?
I will be spearheading a ministry of magic investigation as to the faulty cupcakes. Whomever hexed them like that... let's just say, I will find you. Remember when the fake Mad-Eye turned Draco Malfoy into a ferret? Well, I'll do that to you. Only worse.
[Private to Hermione] I know we haven't seen each other recently. I'm not exactly sure what your thoughts are about Ron right now, but would you like to come over to our flat for dinner some time this week? We can get Muggle take out - Merlin knows that Ron and I would probably set the flat on fire if we tried to cook by ourselves.
Also, how are things going with Krum? You two are together, right? [/Private to Hermione]
[Private to Ron] F-ing cupcakes. I'm going to find the f-er who did this. (censored for sake of character design journal) [/Private to Ron]
[Private to Ginny] Gin, How are you feeling? I hope better than you were a few days go. Would you like to get dinner with me later in the week? -Harry [/Private to Ginny]
Who: Luisa and OTA What: Riding a bike Where: The park When: Friday late afternoon/early evening Rating: PG
After she got home from work with her father and her older brother, all Lou wanted to do was collapse on the couch. Unfortunately, her little brother, Jorge, wanted to go for a ride on his bike, and wouldn't stop shouting until someone took him. Annoyed, but not wanting to risk getting yelled at by her parents or her grandmother, Lou grabbed her helmet, put knee pads, elbow pads, and a helmet on her little brother, and took their bicycles to the park (his obviously had training wheels). She rode for a little while, but got bored easily. She let him ride up and down a stretch of path while she sat on a bench, watching everyone go by. Hopefully she'd see something interesting that she could write about in Gossip Goddess. as Ariella Seymour (Amphitrite) in olympiaheights
Who: Ariella and Zach What: Backstage at the concert Where: The club in Miami When: Saturday night Rating: PG-13
Ariella arrived early to the show with her father - since it was a local show, they just drove to the show themselves (less conspicuous that way). Ariella sat in the green room, playing around on her dad's guitar (she wasn't that good, but she knew how to play). She had already watched the opening act perform, and they were half decent.
She checked her watch, wondering where Zach was. She knew he'd be late, but she was hoping he'd get there before the band went on. Ariella was wearing a little black dress, which was low cut and pretty short, with a pair of red flats. As usual, she was wearing her mother's locket.
The band was set to take the stage in ten minutes, so Ariella stood in the wings with the band, looking around for Zach. as Harry Potter in chariots
Who: Harry and Ginny What: Dinner! Where: Italian restaurant in London When: Friday evening Rating: R
Harry apparated to an alley near the restaurant fifteen minutes before he was supposed to meet Ginny - he didn't want to be late. He wasn't sure if this was a date or just a platonic meal, but just in case, he had cleaned himself up nicely from work. He was wearing a button down shirt, a nice pair of slacks, shoes (that were still scuffed and dirty despite trying to clean them), and he had even combed his hair for the occasion (it was still a mess, but he had made the effort).
He waited outside of the restaurant for Ginny, awkwardly fiddling with his glasses as he waited.
